On Sunday mornings we seek to involve children in the worship of God and opportunities for spiritual growth.
During worship, a nursery is provided for infants through age 5.
After the Children’s Sermon offered by the minister, children ages 3 through 2nd grade head to Children’s Worship. Children ages 5 and up return to corporate worship in time to take communion with their families.
CHILDREN’S WORSHIP
Because we value our children as full of infinite worth and as children of God entrusted to the care of First Christian Church, we offer our Children’s Worship program as a special time for children aged 3 through 2nd grade to receive training in and extend their spiritual experiences as a part of a Christian community of faith. This happens through age appropriate worship experiences, fellowship, sharing of Bible and faith stories, activities and prayer.
By sharing a snack in an intentional way, by serving and being served, participants will gain under-standing of the servant Christ, and how we are called to be servants, too. By listening and participating in Bible stories the participants will gain an understanding of their Christian heritage and will be provided a faith foundation upon which to grow. By participating in activities such as crafts, mu-sic and games, participants will utilize all their senses to reinforce their learning and they will experience the faith and put it into action.
OTHER ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
Throughout the year, we offer other opportunities to learn about God and grow in their faith such as Vacation Bible School, a children’s Christmas program, craft workshops during Advent and Lent, Fall Fun at First on Halloween and more!
