Youth
The youth group of First Christian Church seeks to teach young people (grades 6-12) about what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ in relevant and fun ways. The group meets on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM and Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM. FCC youth also take part in the full life of the church by leading in worship and ministering to others through events like Royal Family Kids Camp and the M.S. 150.
Downtown Teen L.I.F.E. Summer Schedule
Downtown Teen L.I.F.E. is made up of the combined youth groups of First Christian, First Lutheran and First Presbyterian Churches. This summer the group has a list of activities for summer fun that will bring teens from all over the city together. Upcoming events include:
· Sunday, June 6, 5-8 P.M.—Kick-off BBQ at Krug Castle
· Wednesday, June 9, 6-8 P.M.—“Water and Word”—swimming, food, drinks & “talk time” at the Lenanders’ 4821 Woodfield Drive
· Tuesday, June 22, 6-8 P.M.—“Water and Word” at the Lenanders’
· Wednesday, June 23, 4-6:30 P.M.—“Dinner and Conversation” at Safe Haven (6th & Olive Streets)—preparing/serving dinner for the men at the shelter
· Saturday, June 26, 5-8 P.M.—“Faith and Film” at First Christian—watch a movie, enjoy great food and conversation
· Saturday, July 6, 6-8 P.M.—“Water and Word” at the Lenanders’
· Monday, July 8, 4-6:30 P.M.—“Dinner and Conversation” at Safe Haven
· Tuesday, July 13, 6-8 P.M. .—“Water and Word” at the Lenanders’
· Saturday, July 17, 5-8 P.M.—“Faith and Film” at First Christian
· Thursday, August 12, 4-6:30 P.M.—“Dinner and Conversation” at Safe Haven
- Saturday, August 14, 6-9 P.M.—“Theatre Night” at First Christian—a youth designed, directed and produced night of theatre for the community
